Vice President, Business Excellence

Site Leader, Research Triangle Park

Christof Jensen is vice president, business excellence and site leader for UCB’s Research Triangle Park global clinical development office.

Christof started his career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1992. After working in both sponsor and contract research companies, he joined UCB in 1996 initially working in clinical development of investigational medicines. After leading successful clinical projects he was asked to join the Global Project Leadership group, and subsequently moved to Belgium as an expatriate. There he initially worked on the development programs for early stage assets and was soon appointed project leader for UCB’s newest marketed asset Keppra® (levetiracetam). He successfully led the team from 2000 to 2011, bringing additional indications and formulations to global markets that led Keppra® to blockbuster status in sales. Christof moved back to the U.S. in 2003 and remained in Atlanta through 2010, continuing to build networks and establish the project leadership/management function as a core to UCB’s development process. He remained in project leadership roles also successfully leading other global development projects (brivaracetam in epilepsy, romosozumab in bone loss disorders).

He and his family moved to North Carolina in 2010 to work in UCB’s Research Triangle Park office in Raleigh. He currently leads the business excellence organization within development and medical practices, helping to drive the organization to deliver pipeline and lifecycle of marketed assets as a key pillar of UCB’s strategic plan. Since 2014, he has also served as site leader for UCB BioSciences in Research Triangle Park, building and broadening the external network with local academic institutions, public policy makers, local businesses, and volunteer organizations. He is a member of the executive committee and board of advisors for the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and is also a Board Member for NCBIO.

Christof is active in the local community and works for both UCB’s volunteer program as well as through his church to local charities and support groups. He has been married to his wife Lori since 1994 and they have two children (Gabriella, 16 and Trevor, 10). He enjoys the energy of tennis, basketball, and other sports and has a life-long interest and commitment to playing music.
