Calling All Students in the Epilepsy Community

We’re excited to announce the 2019 UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship Program™ is now open for applications. The program offers educational scholarships to people living with epilepsy, family members, and caregivers to help them fulfill their dreams. If you’re a high school senior, college, or graduate student in the epilepsy community looking for financial support to further your education, we invite you to keep reading.

We believe outstanding accomplishments deserve recognition. That’s why since 2005, we’ve been helping those in the epilepsy community achieve their goals by awarding over $2.2 million in scholarships to nearly 450 deserving people for their undergraduate and graduate studies. In 2018, we awarded thirty-two scholarships to recipients attending schools across the U.S. As part of their applications, they shared their personal experiences with epilepsy, academic pursuits, and community achievements. Check out these videos to hear from previous scholarship winners.

This year, we will again award thirty-two scholarships to people living with epilepsy, their family members and caregivers pursuing higher education. Thirty applicants who demonstrate academic and personal achievement will receive one-time scholarships of up to $5,000 each. In addition, two applicants will receive a special award – the Epilepsy Leader Scholarship – up to $10,000 each, in honor of the late Sandra Helmers, MD, MPH and the late John M. Pellock, MD, who were trailblazers in epilepsy research and treatment. This award recognizes individuals advocating for others, positively contributing to the epilepsy community, and embodying a persevering spirit.

Will you be one of thirty-two recipients of the 2019 UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship? Check out our recently updated website to submit your online application by Tuesday, February 5, 2019.
