Last year, UCB was invited to become a member of the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States (AMSUS) Executive Advisory Board as the only pharmaceutical industry representative.

As a member, UCB will collaborate with 11 other innovative healthcare industry leaders and representatives from the Department of Defense, Veteran Affairs, Defense Health Agency, and Public Health Service to represent military-related departments to ensure a highly trained and properly resourced professional and patient-centered federal health care system.

Thanks to UCB’s commitment to federal patients through the work of the Market Access Federal Team, and our expertise in neurology, we have been provided with this special opportunity to represent the industry and advocate on behalf of issues important to UCB and our patients.

UCB will be an active and visible partner, notably through the recent nomination and unanimous approval of Dr. Bruce Lavin, UCB’s Head of External Engagement (Neurology Patient Value Unit) to chair the AMSUS Executive Advisory Board in 2018.

The AMSUS Executive Advisory Board serves as a think tank and a platform to advance patient health through federal-civilian networking, communication, and solutions. Other companies represented on the board include health insurance companies, health informatics companies, and other healthcare industry leaders.
